Captain Austin Lawrence

Growing up in Tampa Florida, Austin always had a calling to the water. Around the same time, he was learning to walk and run, he learned to fish at his grandma's house. His first pole was a lightning McQueen push button rod and reel given to him by his father. Introduced to fishing at a young age, the attraction was magnetic. Ever since I could remember, says Austin “fishing has always brought me such a powerful sense of enjoyment and peace, I could always count on the water to calm my nerves and bring me joy”. As the years passed his addiction grew. On any given weekend you could find Austin with his friends exploring the wonders Tampa bay had to offer targeting fish such as snook, tarpon, speckled sea trout and redfish with his friends who synonymously shared the same passion for fishing as Austin did.. When asked what makes charter fishing so special to Austin he told us “there is nothing more fulfilling than sharing what makes you so happy with others,” Legendary captain and fisherman RT extended an invitation to Austin to fish for and with him here at Spindrift fishing charters down in Key West Florida. Without hesitation, Austin went to sea school and acquired his captain's license and moved down to Key West Florida and the rest is history.

Testimonials

Awesome Captain!

This was our second trip with Captain Austin this spring and it was absolutely perfect! We ended up going 4 for 7 Tarpon and were back to the dock with a huge Cobia for lunch and dinner! We left early in the morning and had our first Taron within 20 minutes! All of our fish were close to a hundred pounds and super full of energy, great trip, great captain, great boat and a pure blast! Thanks Capt. Austin
